We will be happy to help you choose the right torque wrench. Rental of a battery-operated torque wrench

Are you considering renting a battery operated torque wrench? With a battery-powered torque multiplier, you can easily achieve torques between 10 and 15,000 Nm. The tool consists of a battery drive (made in Germany) and the JUWEL planetary gear, which has been developed in Rhineland-Palatinate and produced in-house since 1980.​

 

​Renting a battery-operated torque wrench offers you decisive advantages:

  • The rented battery torque multiplier gives you flexibility: two batteries are included in the standard delivery. We can increase the number of batteries to suit your needs. You can assemble your screws without cables or hoses getting in the way in the component environment or in places where fixed energy sources are very difficult or even impossible to reach.

Rental of an electric torque wrench

Do you do a lot of bolting or do you use a fixed assembly location? If so, you might want to consider an electric torque wrench. Similar to the battery-powered torque multipliers, these can reach torques of up to 15,000 Nm. Thanks to the cable and the powerful electric motor made in Germany, you can keep on bolting. In addition, renting an electric torque wrench makes sense if you have particularly long screwdriving processes (that is, if the screws are very long) or if you are performing alternative applications to screwdriving (e.g. to drive a crank).

Rental of a pneumatic torque wrench

Even though electric and battery-powered torque wrenches are certainly the dominant variant of torque multipliers in many countries, pneumatic torque wrenches still have their place. Renting a pneumatic torque wrench makes sense if you have particularly hard bolted joints. The pneumatic drive is very gentle in its starting behaviour and the most sustainable and gentle type of drive for a planetary gear.

It is frequently used for bolted flange connections that are tightened in several steps (e.g. crosswise). In addition, it makes sense to use a rented pneumatic torque wrench in dusty and/or hot environments.

 

The scope of delivery of a rented pneumatic torque wrench includes the following components:

 

  • Pneumatic rental tool with the minimum and maximum torque appropriate to your conditions (straight, angled or multi)

Rental of a hydraulic torque wrench

Powerful, excellent torque-to-weight ratio for the respective torque multiplier and extremely low-wear. Hydraulic torque wrenches can be used where torque wrenches with planetary gears may be too large.

 

To operate them, you need to be able to operate a pump to generate the hydraulic pressure to drive the torque wrench. A simple access to constant power in the form of a standard household socket is required here. In addition, you need to check whether you have enough space in the area for the hoses. However, we are also happy to support you in this and assess your bolting together.

 

When renting a hydraulic torque wrench, you also have to decide whether you want to rent a torque multiplier with a square socket (this is then placed on the bolt using a socket) or whether the cassette torque multiplier is the right choice (this is placed directly around the bolt without any additional accessories). Generally speaking, the cassette screwdriver is more flexible in terms of space, while the square screwdriver is more flexible in terms of different spanner widths.

 

Where are hydraulic torque wrenches used? Often for flange bolting with torques from 5,000 to 72,000 Nm. In addition, hydraulic torque wrenches are often used where a torque wrench or an electric/battery-powered/pneumatic torque wrench cannot be used due to a lack of space.

 

The scope of delivery of the rented hydraulic device includes the following components:

 

  • Hydraulic torque wrench (with cassette or square drive) with the minimum and maximum torque appropriate for your conditions.

  • Standard reaction arm

  • Operating instructions with detailed descriptions and illustrations

  • Calibration certificate according to international standards for your documentation

  • Twin hoses with a length of 6 m (longer or shorter also available after clarification)

  • Optional: drive sockets for square drive tools, reductions for cassette tools

  • Optional: the appropriate pump for generating the necessary hydraulic pressure

Accessories and other services

Whether you need sockets for the torque wrenches or reductions for the cassette screwdrivers and hoses for the pump: if you decide to rent from JUWEL, you will receive the tools in such a way that you can start working immediately.
