Knife change on wood chippers - wood chip production

Battery-operated torque wrenches are particularly suitable for changing blades and maintaining crushing plants such as wood chippers. By using a torque multiplier, you can now do without impact wrenches. This has decisive advantages:

Torque multipliers work without impact. Unlike impact wrenches, they work without noise (hearing protection is not required), without vibrations and precisely.
Torque wrenches are calibrated tools that meet international standards. This means that they are able to tighten your screws to the required final torque. There is no risk of the screws coming loose due to an insufficient torque
You can change blades on a wood chipper without the need for additional force. You press the start button and the torque wrench does the work for you. After reaching the target torque, the torque multiplier switches off automatically.

Wood chippers are used to efficiently shred branches, twigs, shrubs and other woody material. They are used in landscape maintenance, forestry, municipal applications and private gardening. The wood chips produced can be used for energy generation, as mulch material or for composting.

The blades are a key component of a wood chipper. These are subject to considerable wear with every use, as they come into contact with hard and sometimes contaminated wood. Blunt or damaged blades lead to poorer chipping quality, higher energy consumption and unnecessary strain on the machine. To ensure consistent performance, clean cuts and a long shredder life, the blades should be regularly checked, reground or replaced as needed.
